Farmland Preservation Plan - 2015

Barron County has participated in the Farmland Preservation Program for more than 30 years, since the adoption of the Farmland Preservation Plan in 1979. In 2009, the Working Lands Initiative became state law and with the new law came changes to the Farmland Preservation program. These changes required Barron County to update the previous Farmland Preservation Plan by the end of 2015. Read more to view the new Farmland Preservation Plan which will guide the protection of farmland in the county for the next 10 years.

ATTENTION: If your construction project is on a waterfront lot OR on a lot entirely within 300 feet of the water, you will need to complete the Impervious Surface Calculation Worksheet prior to submitting a Land Use Permit application. Your calculation results may determine that a Mitigation Plan be completed prior to the issuance of your Land Use Permit.
